Nickolas' Baptism

Nickolas was baptized during our trip to Wisconsin. Surprisingly, people showed even though I scheduled it during a Green Bay Packer game - the game Brett Favre tied Dan Marino's touchdown record. Luckily, the party afterwards had plenty of TVs to keep track of the game.

We had a beautiful day for the baptism -- so nice that Nickolas didn't even need the little white jacket that came with his little white baptismal outfit. We arrived at church just before 11:00am Mass and were greeted by many friends and family members including Dan's cousin Maryam and Great-Aunt Touba. Almost all of Aimee's aunts, Grandmother, Grandfather, and a few cousins also came to witness Nickolas' baptism. Nickolas was an angel during the Mass smiling at everyone he saw while in his daddy's arms; however, once the time came for his very own baptismal ceremony, even Godmother Amy couldn't calm him down. As Father Charlie said, "It isn't a baptism without a baby crying."

As mentioned earlier, Nickolas' Godmother is Aimee's dear old friend Amy L., who Aimee attended St. Jude's with 20 years earlier. Nickolas' Godfather is his Uncle David, Aimee's brother. Father Charlie at St. Jude's was kind to administer the baptism from Wauwatosa even though we reside in the DC area.

The celebration afterwards took place at Miller Park in a party room located in left field. We all had a great time with lots of food, cake, friends, family, and a beautiful day.
... and the Packer's won (note Nickolas looking at Brett Favre on the TV in the last photo).
