Flora insisted on wearing a soccer (football) jersey like her brother. Sporty wee one.
Sunday: Daddy was to receive his gifts "in bed". The kids settled for the couch.
Nickolas's gift: "My daddy's favorite colors are red and Kentucky Blue. His favorite things to do are playing sports with me."
Beer and Brunch at the Bavarian Inn in West Virginia. A-mazing.
Who just ate half his weight in German food? Not THIS guy!
Family portrait, again, at Antietam Battlefield (Civil War) in Maryland, across the river from West Virginia.
Nickolas and Lucy chasing Confederate butterflies. Thank goodness for battlefield fencing.
Playing with replica of Burnside Bridge where a bunch of Union soldiers were sniped out.
The actual Burnside Bridge.
Lucy's First "Having A Friend Spend The Day"
Lucy LOVES her friend Harper. They've been in the same class together for two whole school years - over half of their lives. Harper will be attending a different school next year, but we hope to stay in touch. Harper was Lucy's first very good friend.
They loved picking "flowers" from the grass.
Butterfly!
Turtles!
"Bat cave" in Children's garden. Bats eat mosquitos.
Talking to the gooses.
Playing "statute".
"Statutes"
Running from site to site, garden to garden.

Nickolas chatting baseball with Mr. Baseball, Bob Uecker.
When its hot, apparently Philly lets you play in its fountains! It was certainly the kids favorite thing to do.
Looking mystical.
At the Franklin Institute on daddy's back...
To be tall enough for their weather broadcast.
