Soccer Stud

Nickolas loves running and kicking balls, so what better thing to do than have daddy sign him up for soccer (football, for the family in Scotland)? In honor of Dan's Scottish cousins, he wore his Glasgow Rangers tshirt to the first "practice" for the 2-3 year age group. The temperature was well into the 80s which called for lots of agua breaks as Nickolas calls it.

Uncle

Uncle Brian is shooting for the "Uncle of the Year" award. He drove down from Philadelphia on his off day while he was there with the Brewers for work to meet his new niece, Lucy, and play with Nickolas. They colored, they played trucks, and ate corn on the cob (Nickolas's favorite).

Cousin Julie

We had a fun Saturday night visiting Grandpa Jim's cousin Julie at her lovely Bungalow in the city. She spoiled us with a yummy dinner and chocolate for Nickolas. We now know he's quite fond of Dove chocolate bunnies. Julie certainly had a magic touch with Lucy, who's dinner from a different source was not agreeable to her. Nickolas also had fun with Julie's two Westies. As he waved bye-bye to them, he really thought he'd get a wave back instead of the happy barks.

Grandma

Grandma Julie can't seem to take her hands off the wee ones. They just nuzzle right in while Dan and Aimee have the freedom to go as they please. One huge thanks, first of all, to Nana Jean, who trained the wee ones in her arms initially. Oh, and we're pretty sure Lucy's eyes are going to be blue.

Happy Easter

Nickolas showed Lucy the ropes for our annual traditional Easter with Grandma, Sue, and Wayne. Nickolas took charge spreading his toys throughout and opting for cake and ice cream instead of the yummy ham and fixings. There was simply too much fun to be had. The Easter Bunny knew he was coming, so Nickolas scored with his Easter basket of goodies that included some Tonka cars and a mini Thomas the Train set.

Meeting Her Granddaughter

Grandma Julie came to town and met Lucy for the first time. Here is the first time she held her after waiting so patiently from the ride home from the airport. Of great help, Nickolas made a point to show Grandma how to properly burp Lucy.

Leash the Beast

We tried out Nickolas's kiddie harness today in Old Town, which seemed to work well. It's really a harness in disguise since there's a cute and cuddly Elmo on the front of it to protect a cute and cuddly Nickolas from harm's way. We also discovered a new place while mommy was searching for old 18th century warehouses near the waterfront. Nickolas had fun running around the grass and path and watching the boats and planes go by. Since it was such a nice day, the main area of Old Town was very crowded; however, we practically had this little spot all to ourselves.
