More Snow!

We had the pleasure of getting around 6 inches of snow on Saturday. Although 2 inches was predicted, is snowed all day. It was a pleasant surprise so Nickolas and mommy got busy and spent a few hours both Saturday and Sunday to play. The snow was real dry and powdery the first day, so we waited until Sunday to build a snowman. In honor of the upcoming Olympics, we made our snowman both a US Ski Team member and a Canadian host of the games.

Finishing touches.

Nickolas's new friend.

Too sunny today!

Oh Canada! We stand on guard for thee!

Play/Craft Date

We hosted 6 moms and 11 kids over for a little play date, which included crafts and a potluck lunch. 6 of the kids were near Nickolas's age and 5 of the kids were closer to Lucy's age. The big kids were very busy with their craft, which consisted of decorating wooden snowflake shapes and attaching a magnet on the back. Nickolas coated his with about 5 layers of paint, which created a very cool stainless steel looking color mixing blue and silver. The girls were all quite fond of the glitter and sparkly pompoms to glue to theirs.

Big Strong Boy

Lucy loves her big brother and watches his every move. She also pretty much lets him do anything to her and often thinks it's quite funny. Here was Nickolas's attempt at picking Lucy up ... until they both fell down.

Nickolas the Photog

Nickolas has figured out how to turn on the camera and took these lovely shots. Now, if only he could take over the blog...

Jumping, crawling, sliding, driving, crashing, hiding -- all of the things that can be done with a box! It can also become a firetruck!

Chirstmas in WI Part 3

Christmas is one word: FIRETRUCK. Nickolas received lots and lots of firetruck-related gifts: Fireman Sam dvds and t-shirt, actual trucks, puzzles, books. Even on Christmas morning (we opened our gifts on Christmas Eve), a firetruck drove past the house and the firemen waved to Nickolas in the window.

Our family portrait in stockings handmade by Grandma Julie over the years: Nickolas (note the gingerbread man holding a firetruck), Dan the Snow Man, Lucy the angel made with material her baptism gown was made from (and Great-grandma Felicia's wedding dress), and Aimee, the snow flake.

Santa came!

Firetruck (covering up my Fireman Sam tshirt)!

Hi Uncle Brian, have a bow.
Winter Olympic year = Olympic Christmas. GO USA (decked out in Ralph Lauren)!

Grandpa, can we borrow our gift to you that for the game?

And, another firetruck.

Christmas in WI Part 1 - GREEN BAY PACKERS and sledding

Dan went to Lambeau Field for the first time! Thanks Brian, for driving us up to the Green Bay for the game and for Grandma and Grandpa for watching the wee ones. And, thanks Grandma and Grandpa for the sleds!

First time sledding

Second time sledding -- with Ski jumper Karla Keck! Nickolas fell asleep on the way to the hill, so we had to drag him up in the sled. Poor guy woke up on the top not knowing what was going on. He recovered quickly and had great fun catching some jumps and speed.

Passed out.

I insist on pushing you.

Weeeee! Now, THIS is how it's done! Karla, I can't wait 'til we hit the jumps in Steamboat, Colorado!
