Homework Assignment
Nickolas had a homework assignment for preschool. As they continue to work on the alphabet, each student was assigned two letters to present over the course of a month. Nickolas selected "M" and "N" and needed to find a word for something they often see. We used Nickolas's bedspread as a MAP, for M, and the greatest name of all-time, NICKOLAS for N. For some reason, we're missing the "S" in Nickolas, so the big letters were limited to NICK. Lucy was of assistance to set the stage. We then printed the pictures below and mounted them in two folders for his presentation.
Dirt Girl
Mommy came home to Lucy playing in the dirt in the back yard enjoying the warm day while the boys played football. She had some serious snot going on, too. Daddy also did a cute job dressing Lucy although it may take a while to get the dirt out of her boots. She looked like a little character from a cartoon she watches called "Dirt Girl". Who knew dirt could be so fun?

Flora at 3 Months
Nickolas and Flora hit the toddler birthday party circuit this weekend. Lucy was slightly under the weather and napped for one of the parties. Our friend Dawn had her fancy camera with her and always does amazing things with it. Below are pictures from Ellis's 1st birthday party she took showing Flora at 3 months of age. Ellis's mommy, Monica, used to work with Aimee and Dan.

Ice Skating Lessons
Nickolas had his second ice skating lesson at the Pentagon Row rink. He's since graduated from double-bladed skates to single bladed skates. After yesterdays mid-70 degree weather, the weather today was more suitable for skating in the low 50s with extremely gusty winds. All of the little bobble-headed skaters got a work-out today with the wind.
Nickolas didn't have a name tag for his teacher today, so she called him Ovechkin after his jersey - he actually responded to it!
HAPPY 4th BIRTHDAY NICKOLAS!
Nickolas had all of closest buddies over for a party to celebrate turning 4 years old. Compared to last year's birthday with tons of snow on the ground, this year, it reached to 76 degrees! His party began at 5:00 and everyone enjoyed eating dinosaur nuggets, mini tacos, various cheeses, fish crackers, Pirate's Booty, and fruit salad. We had cake in the basement and will be working on removing chocolate from the carpeting for the next couple of days. Oh, and Nickolas scored some good loot, too. This year's theme was, of course, firetrucks. Next year, however, he said he'd like it to be football.

Final Packer Victory Lap
We watched the Packer's Superbowl win celebration on TV and made our very own Lombardi Trophy. It's amazing what one can do with tinfoil.
Uncle Brian came a few days after the Packers won the Superbowl for work. We went down to Georgetown to visit him at the Four Seasons. Uncle Brian had an entire duffel bag full of Superbowl goodies, including a championship belt.
Clay Mathews and Quarterback Aaron Rogers with the Lombardi Trophy and their made-up championship belt.

Relaxing after the celebration.

Nickolas and Tyger
Nickolas's dear friend Tyger invited him over for a playful Friday afternoon where they ate cookies, played with a golf set, cars, and ate pizza. They likely had fun wrestling, too. They go way back to the days before they could even walk. In fact, Nickolas took his first extended set of steps at Tyger's home. Now, they're such big boys. Good boys, too.

Nickolas's first steps (might need to cut and paste link if not directed from it):

Two Month Check-up
Flora, at her 2 month check-up, weighs 9 pounds 9 ounces. That is up from 8 pounds 2 ounces from her 1 month check-up. She is growing and thriving. Now, if only we could get her to sleep at a decent hour (before 11:00pm). For the most part, she is very easy going and sleeps very well on-the-go in her car seat. She enjoys the comfort of her car seat so much, she takes most of her day-time naps in it. If that makes her happy, it makes us happy.
