Happy Independence Day!

Pretty Dress

A while back, Grandma Julie sent us old dresses that mommy wore as a wee one and some her aunties may have worn. Some are quite delicate and all are lovely. They sure don't make them like they used to.

Other Pics and Catching Up

Here are a few catch-up posts from June. It was a crazy month since we moved from our two-bedroom apartment where we had been for nearly 3 years into a cute little home nearby. Grandma Julie came to help us pack, move, and unpack -- it simply could not have been done without her. Dan's sister Linda and the kids came for a visit to help us break-in the new place and figure out how everything works, which was great fun. We're close to being settled now and are enjoying the new home.

Air and Space Museum

We went to explore the newer Air and Space Museum near Dulles Airport, not the one on the National Mall. IT WAS COOL! They have a real space shuttle, WWII planes, and mommy's favorite, a Concord Air France jet. Nickolas refers to planes as "highs" since they fly up high. I think a lot of stranger kept thinking he was saying "hello" to them.

Clemyjontri Park

There's an amazing park in McLean called Clemyjontri that Nickolas wanted to show his cousins. It's huge and Nickolas ran from one thing to the next with Katrina and Eric in tow. They finished the fun on the carousel after exploring all of the activities including a giant maze.

Firetrucks!

Nickolas was hanging out in the living room when the fire alarm went off. It isn't much of an alarm since it goes off on average once a month as a false alarm. However, it brings along much excitement since it involves the Arlington Fire Department turning off the alarm for the complex. We had a feeling they'd be out there, so we took a walk to look at some fire trucks up close and personal. All of the fire fighters waved to Nickolas who carried along with him his own fire truck.

Chairs

We put Lucy in Nickolas's old Bumbo chair, and it worked! She has great head support at 3 months (today is her 3-month birthday!) Nickolas was so impressed, he went and got his own chair to sit along with her.
